How Can I Help Children Learn Math and Science?

To learn the skills appropriate to help students solve math and science problems their own, I believe in using a wide range of teaching methods, which include:

Expository methods

1. When an introduction to a lesson introduction is necessary

2. When factual material is taught

3. When students require background information before inquiry experiments

Scientific Method

1. Inquiry and discovery activities in small groups

2. Student s practice observing, classifying comparing, generalizing synthesizing, testing a hypothesis and evaluation.

Directed Discussion

1. During inquiry or discovery

2. Teacher should develop questions to guide students in use of scientific methods and practice of critical thinking skills.
